Sean Fryer

Sean Fryer is Digital Transport Delivery Manager and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) Lead at Tees Valley Combined Authority (TVCA) UK, leading the strategic development of the Full Business Case for the region’s £70m Digital Transport Programme and leading delivery of its ITS portfolio.

He has led pioneering initiatives, including the UK’s first operational, region-wide automated Traffic Digital Twin and one of the UK’s largest network-level deployments of FUSION adaptive traffic control. The multi-award-winning Digital Twin has received national recognition from the UK Department for Transport and featured in the nation’s Transport AI Action Plan and Data Action Plan.

Sean has recently been appointed Co-Chair of ITS North (ITS UK), was recognised in the ITS Parliamentary Review for his leadership of the ITS programme, and contributes industry thought leadership on operational Digital Twins and ITS through CIHT’s Transportation Professional.
